This wiki helps you to build GCC 4.8.1 (latest as of june 2013) on your Padaboard ES running Ubuntu.
Get the source files of GCC 4.8.1 and prepare to build
mkdir ~/GCC cd ~/GCC wget www.netgull.com/gcc/releases/gcc-4.8.1/gcc-4.8.1.tar.bz2

Run GCC’s script to build all the prerequisite packages.
./contrib/download_prerequisites mkdir build cd build ../configure --disable-multilib
Once the configuration is done, run make
make make install
