BUD-E uses a reliable mobile base that can autonomously traverse around a house. Its torso is a scissor lift that raises and lowers so the arm can reach items placed on different heights.
BUD-E will be operable with simple and flexible voice commands adoption by senior citizens, who are typically less technologically adept. The robot have three main subsystems: The UI Subsystem, Navigation Subsystem and Manipulation Subsystem.
